About Tiantishan Grottoes

Among China's earliest Buddhist cave temples, the Tiantishan Grottoes in Wuwei feature a towering seated Buddha gazing across a reservoir. Set against forested cliffs, the site offers a quieter, grander alternative to the Silk Road's more famous grottoes.

Getting There

Dengshan Village, Huangyang Town, Liangzhou District, Wuwei (~50 km south of city). Nearest HSR: Wuwei East (~55 km); nearest airport: Jinchuan (~100 km). From Wuwei Passenger Center take Huangyang-bound bus to scenic fork then 2.3 km free shuttle (call 0935-2980219).
