About Menyuan Hundred-Li Rapeseed (Canola) Flower Sea

An immense sea of golden rapeseed bloom across the plateau of Menyuan County, Qinghai, beneath the snow-capped Qilian Mountains. Best seen in July, it is one of China's most photographed summer landscapes.

Highlights

• One of the world's largest continuous rape (canola) fields, ~50,000 ha. • Golden sea against snowy Qilian mountains, best mid-July. • Observation terraces and a sightseeing train.

Suggested Route

Yuanshan flower-viewing terrace → fields → Dabanshan viewpoint; allow 2–3 h (best July).
