About Dali Ancient City

A well-preserved walled city in Yunnan, set between the Cangshan mountains and Erhai Lake. Strolling its Ming- and Qing-dynasty streets, visitors find Bai architecture, the Five-Storey Pagoda, marble crafts, and lively night markets.

1) Transport: buses and trains to Dali all arrive at Xiaguan. 2) Sun protection: Dali's sun is intense with strong UV—avoid direct exposure; a sun hat is essential and sunglasses will make your trip more comfortable. 3) Temperature: large day-night swings, especially in the rainy summer/autumn—bring summer clothes plus windproof and warm layers. 4) Security: Dali Old Town is safe, but watch for pickpockets in crowds and avoid isolated areas at night; women should travel in groups. 5) Language: Dali is Bai ethnic area...
