About Heshun Ancient Town

A graceful Ming- and Qing-dynasty town near Tengchong, Yunnan, shaped by overseas-Chinese merchants who returned home to build elegant mansions and one of China's oldest rural libraries. Canals, wetlands, and lotus ponds thread through its lanes.

Travel Tips

Besides Heshun Town, you can also visit the nearby Lotus Hot Spring. 1) Heshun is an ethnic-minority area (mainly Lisu, Achang, Dai, Hui, Wa, Bai)—respect local customs. 2) Wear comfortable walking shoes and loose clothing, and bring a jacket. 3) Day-night temperature swings are large; UV is strong, so women should bring sun-protection skincare. 4) Peak and off seasons differ sharply; in peak season, hotels, cars, and guides may all be fully booked.
