About Mount Lao (Laoshan)

Mount Lao rises on Qingdao's coastline as a celebrated Taoist mountain, where sea breeze meets pine-clad slopes and cascading streams. Its springs and peaks have long nourished Taoist hermits and, today, brewers of local tea.

Highlights

A coastal Taoist mountain east of Qingdao; Taiqing Palace, seashore cliffs and tea terraces; known as 'the foremost mountain on the sea'.

Suggested Route

Take the scenic bus to Taiqing or Yangkou, walk the coastal trails and visit the Taoist temples; allow 4-6 hours.
