About Mount Putuo (Putuoshan) Tourism Area

One of China's four sacred Buddhist mountains and the seat of Guanyin, the goddess of mercy, Mount Putuo is a serene island in the Zhoushan archipelago. Wrapped in sea mist, its temples and rocky coastlines draw pilgrims and beachgoers alike.

One of China's Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains and Guanyin's bodhimanda; the 33m South Sea Guanyin statue; Puji, Fayu and Huiji temples; Qianbu and Baibu sandy beaches.

Suggested Route

1-day efficient: ferry from Zhujiajian → South Sea Guanyin → Puji Temple → Fayu Temple → cable car to Huiji (Foding) → return; 2 days add Luojia Island and Xitian.

Food & Lodging

Vegetarian meals at temples (~45 yuan) and seafood near Zhujiajian; stay at Longwan village B&Bs or upscale hotels such as Xiangsheng.

Facilities

Island shuttle buses, cable car, restrooms, luggage storage, multi-language audio guides, and barrier-free paths at main temples; no private cars allowed on the island.
