About Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center

China's pioneering space-launch base, also known as Dongfeng Aerospace City. Visitors on authorized tours can see launch pads, exhibition halls and astronaut facilities at this iconic site of China's space program.

Suggested Route

Visits require advance ID-based security clearance booked 2-3 days ahead via the official 'You Hangtian' mini-program or a licensed travel agent; foreign and Hong Kong/Macao/Taiwan visitors are not admitted. Typical tour: memorial hall - launch site - martyr cemetery; half-day.

Food & Lodging

On-site lodging and a set lunch are available by reservation. In Jiuquan city try Lanzhou beef noodles and hu guo.

Parking, shuttle bus, restrooms and guided commentary. Photography inside the base is restricted.
Travel Tips

Wear layers as mountain weather can change quickly. Photography is best in golden hour.

Getting There

No public transit into the base; nearest airport: Jiayuguan Jiuquan Airport (JGN), ~260 km, then transfer to Dongfeng (East Wind) aerospace town; nearest HSR: Jiayuguan South Railway Station, then road transfer. Access only via authorized tours.

MANDATORY advance booking & security clearance (ID vetting) via authorized travel agency (e.g. 'You Hangtian' WeChat mini-program); individual/unbooked visits not permitted.
