About Mount Jinfo (Jinfo Mountain) Tourism Area

Jinfoshan, whose name means 'Golden Buddha Mountain,' is a UNESCO World Heritage karst plateau celebrated for seas of cloud, ancient Buddhist temples, and spectacular spring azalea blooms.

Highlights

• World Natural Heritage karst massif with sea of clouds and rare flora (dwarf pine, azalea). • Year-round scenery: azalea blooms in spring, skiing in winter. • Ancient Buddhist temples and the Golden-Buddha cliff face at sunset.

Suggested Route

Take the cable car from the West Slope to the summit, visit Jinfo Temple and the ecological stone forest, then descend; allow 4-6 h.

Food & Lodging

Mountain delicacies: bamboo shoots, wild mushrooms, and square-stem bamboo shoot dishes. Stay at Tianxing Town hot-spring resorts at the base.

Travel Tips

Dress modestly. Be quiet inside temple halls. Do not point at Buddha statues. Incense is available on-site.
