This scenic mountain area near Nyingchi in southeastern Tibet is part of the Yarlung Tsangpo valley landscape, where snow peaks overlook dense forests and rushing rivers. It offers quiet trails and panoramic views of the region's dramatic mountain scenery.

Travel Tips

If you're only visiting Benri Sacred Spring and the Bon temples at the foot of the mountain, you can day-trip from Bayi Town with no overnight stay. To circuit the mountain, simple lodges for pilgrims are available along the route. Circling Benri Sacred Mountain is physically demanding; in winter passes may be blocked by snow, so check conditions before setting out. Walk the circuit counter-clockwise. Call ahead for advice, and do not attempt the mountain alone.
