Facilities
1) Buses from Chengdu, Qamdo, and Nyingchi all pass through Ranwu Town, which has a youth hostel (~20 yuan/bed) with strong hot water. An SUV can drive all the way to Midui Village; from there it's about a 2-hour walk to the glacier, and you can return to Ranwu the same day. 2) In the village you can hire a guide to the glacier; if they carry your gear, tip about 20 yuan. During peak holiday periods the village charges visitors 15 yuan each, issuing a homemade receipt.
