1) People with high blood pressure or asthma should not travel to Tibet. The high altitude causes altitude sickness in many; after arriving, walk slowly, talk less, and get plenty of sleep. Summer day-night temperature swings are large, so bring several tops; sunlight is strong, so a hat and sunglasses are essential. 2) Altitude sickness can be troublesome—first-time visitors should ensure good sleep, drink water often, eat fruit, and avoid smoking and strenuous exercise. Eat normally rather than overeating, to ease the burden on your digestion.
