About Chengde Mountain Resort and Outlying Temples

The Chengde Mountain Resort and Outlying Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was the Qing dynasty's summer palace and political center. The vast imperial garden complex features lakes, pagodas, and grasslands, surrounded by eight Outer Temples built in Tibetan, Mongolian, and Han architectural styles, reflecting the Qing's multi-ethnic governance.
