About Mianshan Tourism Area

Mianshan Mountain is a dramatic scenic area known for its sheer cliffs, deep gorges, and cliff-hanging temples. The mountain features the largest cave temple complex in China, natural springs, and the historic site where the Qingming Festival (Tomb-Sweeping Day) originated.

Highlights

A sacred mountain associated with the Cold Food Festival and loyal hermit Jie Zitui; highlights include cliff-hanging temples (Qianshan Temple), waterfalls, the Longtou Temple, and the Shuitaogou gorge.

Suggested Route

Take the cable car/sightseeing bus up, visit the cliff temples and waterfalls, descend; allow a full day.
