About Shuidonggou Tourism Area (Shuidonggou Site)

Outside Yinchuan, Shuidonggou layers archaeology and landscape: a major Paleolithic site where early humans once lived, Ming-era Great Wall ramparts, and a desert canyon toured by boat and on foot.

Highlights

China's first paleolithic site (Hetao Man); Ming-dynasty border-defense forts, an earth-bank Great Wall, camel-bell post road and gorge wetland.

Suggested Route

From the visitor center see the museum, the Ming fort and earth Great Wall, then the gorge boat or camel ride and the Zhangguozhuang relic; allow half a day.

Try Yinchuan lamb and Ningxia dates; stay in Yinchuan.
