About Ta'er (Kumbum) Monastery

Kumbum (Ta'er) Monastery is a major Tibetan Buddhist monastery near Xining, revered as the birthplace of Tsongkhapa, founder of the Gelug school. It is famous for its butter sculptures, murals, and golden-roofed halls.
