About Temple of Heaven

The Temple of Heaven, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was where Ming and Qing emperors conducted annual ceremonies of prayer for good harvests. This masterpiece of religious architecture features the iconic Circular Mound Altar and the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, symbolizing the relationship between heaven and earth in Chinese cosmology.

Suggested Route

Enter at the South Gate, see the Circular Mound Altar -> Imperial Vault of Heaven -> Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, then stroll the Long Corridor; allow 2-3 hours. Exit via the East or North Gate.

Nearby try Beijing roast duck (Quanjude) and local noodles; visitors usually stay in central Beijing.
