About Leshan Giant Buddha Tourism Area
The Leshan Giant Buddha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the world's largest stone Buddha statue at 71 meters tall. Carved into a cliff face at the confluence of three rivers during the 8th century Tang dynasty, the colossal Maitreya Buddha watches over the waters, with hidden drainage systems that have preserved it for over 1,200 years.
